The violence that spread through the Middle East has led to 1.7 refugees and displaced persons seeking safety in the Kurdistan Region. We provide Emergency Relief for children who lack basic necessities such as warm clothes, milk, diapers, bottles and hygeine products along with long term education and health projects. Our teams work across all of the Kurdistan Region and we do not discriminate between any child who needs our help. The UN estimated that the situation will remain the same for another 2 years so we desperately need your help to be able to continue to provide our services to the children who need our help.
Cancer is the main cause of death by disease in children. Every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide. This child might be someone you know and love. Last year 1200 children aged between 0-18yrs old recieved treatment for cancer in Sulaimaniyah, the culture capital of Kurdistan. This numbr includes new and existing patients from all over Kurdistan and Ira, including IDPs and Refugees also.
The estimated cost of treatment for every cancer stricken child is more than $100,000. Fortunately hildren have a better cgance of survival since 80% of child cancer patients survive to live a full and healthy life. KSC tries to ensre that every child has this rate of survival by providing diagnosed children with social, psychological and financial support.
